About Joshua
Joshua's journey began in Reading, PA, where he faced the challenges of growing up in the foster care system. Throughout his youth, he attended various public schools, including Reading, Muhlenberg, Wilson, Governor Mifflin, and Berks Career and Technology Center. Despite the hurdles, he found a calling in community service alongside his brother, volunteering as firefighters at their local fire company.
With determination to make a difference, Joshua made the decision to drop out of high school during his final year to start a career with the Department of Human Services. Yet, he never abandoned his quest for knowledge. He earned his GED from Reading Area Community College, enrolling in courses during his free time to further his education.
Fast forward nearly seven years as a proud union member serving the people of the Commonwealth, Joshua's hunger for growth led him to the construction industry, where he embraced a new trade in the private sector. With almost 15 years of practical experience under his belt, he has dedicated countless hours to local organizations, embodying the spirit of service that has always motivated him.
Today, Joshua serves as a Codes enforcement officer for the City of Reading, all while continuing to volunteer and teach his two young children the vital importance of community service. His commitment is rooted deeply in a family tradition of giving back, driven by the belief that everyone should help others whenever they can.
In his own words, Joshua passionately states, “If you’re going to do something, do it because you want to. It should always come from the heart; anything else is not only selling yourself short but is disrespectful to those around you.” It's this unwavering drive and dedication to public service that has inspired him to run for a seat representing the 126th House District.
